Tired of the urban? Even die-hard Manhattanites need a little reprieve from the gritty, nothing’s-out-of-bounds beat of The City. And in New York, that’s not hard to achieve. At all. For one, there’s always the Hamptons, favorite of the filthy rich, noveau riche, and those ever-present wannabes. Whether you’re Trump, Diddy, or little Annie catching the Montauk Line for the first time, a little vacay Hamptons-side is never a bad thing. Plus, there’s always a party to discover For the New York birthday guy or gal who wants to get out of the city for bit, we have several favorite Hamptons’ party spots, and, yes, we are gonna share. Rowdy Hall: In honor of the World Cup, this beer fest has an English Pub feel with a French Bistro menu and of course, that Hamptons chic. Locals and visitors alike flock to Rowdy for a little Sunday supper and sports watching. Montauk Baby …Plum Island and monsters aside, Montauk is like the LES née Billyburg version of the Hamptons, that is to say, Hipster Central. After careful investigation by numerous blogs, Internet memes, and gossipmongers, it appears the Montauk Beach is where it’s at. If not at the beach, try Montauk Yacht Club, which hosts parties, swimming, rump shaking, and more. Djs flock to the place as do throngs of well-heeled, car-driving Williamsburg denizens. Bamboo: Sushi for dinner. No tar balls. Go-to spot come nighttime. ‘nuff said. (p.s. Catch “Eldridge East” Saturdays for some Dj action) Axe Lounge @ Dune: Dune’s latest reincarnation is brought to you by those people with (sort of?) funny more weird commercials about the powers of a spray on deodorant. Go for laughs, stay for fun. Don’t worry, you won’t feel like you’re stepping into some bizarre real life version of an Axe commercial. This is a go to place in the Hamptons. Getting there: No car? Not a problem because buses, blimps, trains, and speedboats all service the Hamptons. With style, of course. Check out luxury bus line Hampton Luxury Bus Liner or the Jitney bus line. Either way, it’s worth the jaunt for a little hot and heavy beach action. |
