Central Park: Central Park is one of the best places in NYC. It allows you to escape the city feeling while still being in NYC. Central Park is the perfect spot to be outdoors over the summer. Festivals: The summertime is when all the best festivals around the city take place. Everyone comes out of hibernation and enjoys the outdoor festivals. One great festival is the Little Italy Summer Festival. They close down the street for traffic, and the streets are filled with merchants, selling food, wine, deserts, jewelry, clothing and much more! There is also the River to River Festival, which is a celebration featuring free music, dance and cultural programs in Lower Manhattan. And for the young ones, there is a Children’s day at the Seaport, where the children can do arts and crafts and see a great fireworks show.
